Best RAM For Ryzen: When it comes to the processors, AMD and Intel have been the strongest competitors. However, AMD has been capable of achieving better standards with its Ryzen series of processors. If you are looking for the best RAM for Ryzen, you would need to check the capability and speed limitations offered by each of the series.
Ryzen Compatible RAM – The Right way to Choose
Well, the RAM you choose would ideally be based on the Ryzen version or series that you are planning to go with. Of course, the highest performance offered by a RAM is 4666 MHz. However, the actual memory support would ideally be dependent on the Ryzen Version.
The world today belongs to Ryzen 3000 series and with the overclocking feature available with it, you should be able to choose any of the best DDR4 RAM for Ryzen. It will be a wonderful option if you choose to go with the best memory for Ryzen with 3733 MHz. This is one of the excellent options and has been treated t be the right sweet spot for a RAM.
Best RAM For Ryzen: 7 Best Options For 2021
1. HyperX Kingston Fury 8GB
Best Features:
- Capacity: 8GB
- Standard: DDR4
- Speed: 2666 MHz
- CAS: 15
- Configuration: 2 x 4GB
The HyperX Kingston Fury RAM kit is one of our favorite budget RAM kits thanks to its decently-boosted RAM speeds and low price. It has a heatsink for added overclocking utility, and some users have even reported pushing it as high as 3000 MHz, which definitely can’t be complained about at this price point.
2. G.Skill TridentZ 8GB
Best Features:
- Capacity: 8GB
- Standard: DDR4
- Speed: 3600 MHz
- CAS: 17
- Configuration: 2 x 4GB
The G.Skill TridentZ series is a particular favorite among Ryzen enthusiasts since they have a higher chance of using Samsung B-Dies. (We’ll explain why this matters in the buying guide below.)
3. Patriot Viper Steel Series Performance Memory Kit 16GB
Best Features
- Capacity: 16GB
- Standard: DDR4
- Speed: 4133 MHz
- CAS: 15
- Configuration: 2 x 8GB
The Patriot Viper Steel Series is a favorite among enthusiasts, and this is actually our first truly high-end selection. There’s 16GB of RAM here for roughly ~$150, but cutting that price in half, you’d still be getting 8GB of incredibly fast, low-latency RAM for only $75.
4. Corsair RGB Pro 16GB
Best Features
- Capacity: 16GB
- Standard: DDR4
- Speed: 3466 MHz
- CAS: 16
- Configuration: 2 x 8 GB
However, Corsair’s RGB products are easily among the best in the industry, and they should work well with full-system RGB setups. Corsair’s Vengeance line is known to perform well with Ryzen CPUs, in general, so we’re still happy to recommend this RAM kit…even if it does come at a little bit of a price premium.
5. G.Skill TridentZ RGB 16GB
Best Features
- Capacity: 16GB
- Standard: DDR4
- Speed: 3600 MHz
- CAS: 17
- Configuration: 2 x 8 GB
This is one of the best Ryzen-optimized RAM kits, and it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll land a Samsung B-Die with this particular kit. This G.Skill TridentZ RAM is optimized to run at up to 3600 MHz with a CAS latency of 17, and thanks to the B-Die we know it has it’ll almost certainly play nicely with Ryzen CPUs.
6. GeIL EVO POTENZA DDR4 RAM
Best Features:
- 16-16-16-36
- 1.2V
- intel z170 and x99 compatible
Most of the buyers must have not heard anything about GeIL and its products. This company is Taiwan based and mainly focuses on constructing RAM for PCs.
The best thing about this RAM is its thermal conduction and heat handling capabilities. It has specially designed MTCD technology. MTCD stands for Maximum Thermal Conduction and Dissipation.
There are no RGB LED lights and the design is a bit uncanny. The design does look a bit strange unlike any other RAM stick in the market.
7. G.SKILL Flare X Series DDR4 RAM
G.Skill always amazes PC enthusiasts with its line of products. The Flare X Series is another mid-range high performer that every PC gamer would like to have.
It has a pretty bold design but sadly you all will have to compromise on the RGB LED lights. It has a steely kind of design which is quite different from the other RAM sticks.
The good thing is that it has XMP enabled for Ryzen CPUs. Not all RAM’s are compatible with AMD’s new lineup of Ryzen CPU but G.Skill kept this in mind and took action.
Best Features:
- DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
- Timing 14-14-14-34
- Cas Latency 14
- XMP enabled for Ryzen
How to Choose the Best RAM For Ryzen in 2021?
Well, there cannot be a one size fits all option. You cannot go with a higher memory size always. The concept of The Higher, The Better would not be practical here. It would be important to notice which higher speed does your motherboard support. Even when the processor may support a higher memory, your motherboard capacity may be limited.
Choosing the right Ryzen compatible RAM would be dependent on a variety of factors. CAS Latency, the optimal speed, the channel capacity are a few features that would make it one of the favorable options you would want to go with. Choose the best DDR4 RAM options based on the exact options.
The modern Ryzen processors come with exciting functionality and support more than just 3600 MHz speed. In fact, it has become extremely helpful and practical to gain higher frequencies with the new range of Ryzen processors.
It should be noticed that the 3200 MHz frequency has been one of the excellent options for enhanced performance. They can be the right option for those of you who are on a tight budget.
In essence, check the best options available for the best RAM for Ryzen. Just make sure that the RAM you choose is compatible enough with the Ryzen processor and the version on it to achieve the best results.

Can Ryzen even Push RAM to these Higher Speeds?
At 4000 MHz and above, probably not. Around the 3600 MHz range, reaching that speed is pretty much guaranteed, as long as the kit in question is able to reach it.
There’s still a benefit to buying faster RAM in this case, though, since it increases the chance of you getting high-quality dies that won’t cause issues with Ryzen. (ie, Corsair and G.Skill using a lot of Samsung B-Dies.)
